Orthodontics

Orthodontics is the art of correcting and repositioning malaligned teeth. Not only do crooked teeth affect one’s appearance , they may also increase one’s risk of further dental complications. As poorly aligned teeth are more difficult to maintain, it may result in tooth decay or gum disease.

Braces

Braces are one of the most common fixed appliances used in the straightening of teeth. They are available in both bright and clear colours to cater to people of different age groups.

We offer Student and NSF prices for Braces, starting at $3388. Click here to find out more!

How is it done?
Braces are made up of a few components– bands, brackets and wires. Bands are secured around your teeth to serve as anchors for the appliance, whereas brackets are  bonded (glued) to your front teeth. Metal wires will run through the brackets in order to align them. The wires are tightened periodically in order to gradually put tension onto the teeth, moving them to their intended position.

The entire procedure can take a few months or up to a few years, depending on the initial condition of the teeth. Once the teeth are aligned, you will need to wear a retainer, which is modeled after the desired teeth position. As it requires time for the bone and tissues around your teeth to reorganise, a retainer is necessary to anchor your teeth in their newly aligned positions until your bite stabilises.
