Aesthetic dentistry is concerned with the appearance and aesthetic appeal of not just one’s teeth but the entire lower face and lips. Generally, it is concerned with improving the colour, size, shape and alignment of the teeth. An aesthetically appealing set of teeth enhances a person’s smile, boosting one’s confidence.
Most of us are unlikely to have pearly white teeth, due to our diet and lifestyle habits. A person’s teeth are more likely to be stained or discoloured if he or she smokes, or lacks proper oral hygiene routine. Teeth whitening helps to remove stain and discolouration, which will vastly improve the looks of your teeth.
We offer 2 kinds of whitening treatment—Chair-side Whitening and Take-Home Whitening.
What is chair-side whitening and how is it done?
With the help of high concentrations of a whitening agent under carefully monitored conditions in the dental office, visible effects can usually be observed after 1 hour of treatment.
A cheek retractor will first be inserted into your mouth, revealing the teeth in your “esthetic zone”. This refers to teeth that can be seen when you smile. Before applying the whitening gel to the esthetic zone, a protective resin will also be applied onto your gum tissue to prevent the whitening gel from contacting and irritating the gums.
What is take-home whitening and how is it done?
Home whitening kits contain lower concentrations of the whitening agent. Upon examination, your dentist will give you a custom-made tray to hold the whitening cream against your teeth. You will have to wear the tray with the whitening gel for one to four hours a day, for about one to two weeks.
How long can the effects of treatment last?
It can last anywhere between a few months to a year, depending on your tooth structure and lifestyle habits. The consumption of acidic foods (coffee, tea, soft drinks) and smoking can gradually reduce the effectiveness of the whitening treatment.

Veneers are thin shells of ceramic or composite resin, and are bonded to the surface of one’s teeth for the following aesthetic purposes:
- To enhance the shape of worn-out front teeth
- To correct the color of front teeth that cannot be remedied by whitening
- To refine minor irregularities in the positioning of the front teeth
- To refine the appearance of malformed teeth
How is it done?
Generally, there are three stages for the entire treatment — diagnosis and formulation of treatment plan, preparation, bonding. Be sure to let your dentist understand your objectives during the diagnosis and treatment planning stage. Following which, your teeth will be lightly buffed during the preparation stage to allow for the veneer’s added thickness. Approximately half a millimeter of the tooth’s outer layer will be removed.
How long does it take?
Composite resin veneers can usually be done in one appointment. On the other hand, ceramic veneers require a longer timeframe as a mold of your teeth will be have to be sent to a laboratory for the fabrication of the veneers.

Botox and Fillers
Over the last few years, cosmetic injectables have become one of the most popular forms of facial cosmetic enhancement. Minimal risks, instant results, short downtime are just some of the reasons for its increasing popularity.
What do fillers and botox do?
Fillers and botox not only have the ability to reduce wrinkles such as crow’s feet and forehead frown lines, but also to revitalize the volume of your skin that has been lost through the aging process. Facial contours are enhanced, skin is smoothened and the overall appearance is one that is youthful and rejuvenated. Additionally, they can be used to correct one’s appearance issues that are a result of overactive facial muscles and a range of aesthetic and/or functional dental problems.
